Reflecting on My First Month Blogging + 20 Things You Didn’t Know About Me.

I can’t believe yesterday marked one month since I started this blog. I honestly feel very proud of myself for finally going through with doing this. I wanted to write this post as a reflection on why I started this blog and what it means to me and so that it also serves as a way for all of you to get to know me a little bit better. 

A little backstory for you all. My family purchased our first computer back in the year 2000. I remember being so excited for this new device we were going to own lol and since the first day I remember wanting to do many things on this new computer. At the time, I was only 10 years old so my use of the computer was mostly to play games on DisneyChannel.com lol Anyways as time went by I remember always having an interest for reading blogs, forums, and watching YouTube videos. To make a long story short I’ve been wanting to do something in the creative field back since my college days (which was back in 2008) but then I got into radio (Read my story HERE) and got distracted and thought I had no time to do anything then (which is partly true, now I wish I would’ve vlogged the many fun adventures in that time of my life). After my time ended in radio, I started working for a career company, where I got my fix for content and I loved it but, it wasn’t something that belonged to me, which was fine but, I still longed for a space that was all mine. A space where I could make all creative decisions and create whatever I wanted. Time kept passing by and content creation was all I could talk about to my friends and family but I just thought that it wasn’t something I was able to do. That is when I decided to do something about it and tried starting something around this time last year but, then I started grad school, which hit me hard since I had been out of school for about 7 years so it became hard to handle it all. This brings us back to the present time, where I am still in grad school, working full-time but tired of just longing for my own creative space. 

In conversations the topic of hobbies would always come up and I honestly never knew how to answer the question that came which asked “do you have any hobbies?” After much thinking and biting the bullet one day, I decided I needed to start my hobby and I needed to start it now! My next step was to find a name for what I wanted to do. I couldn’t think of anything so I kept putting it off until one day the name Marisol Loves came to mind and I thought it was perfect! The main reason I wanted to do this was because it is something I absolutely love! I feel like creating content, whether it be writing, taking pictures, creating videos, designing graphics or updating my website is what I love to do. So, that brings us to the present day which is exactly one month after officially launching my blog. This first month has been filled with happiness, learning, proudness but also with frustrations and confusion since this is all new to me LOL. 

Anyways, before this post gets too long I wanted to end it with a list of 20 things you didn’t know about me- you know- just for fun! 

1. I was born in East Los Angeles. 🙂
2. My favorite color used to be pink but now it’s baby blue. 
3. My favorite foods are Italian and Mexican.
4. I am of Mexican descent (both of my parents are from the same exact town in Mexico LOL)
5. I received two Bachelor’s Degrees. One in Mass Media and the other in Public Relations. 
6. I am currently working towards my Master’s Degree in Communication Studies. 
7. My favorite flowers are Tulips (Red Ones) and Roses. 
8. My favorite ice cream flavor is Pistachio. 
9. My dream places to visit are Hawaii and The Maldives. 
10. I love fashion and clothes- I dream of having a huge closet one day! 
11. I love the topic surrounding careers and career development. 
12. I am child #3 of 4. I have two older brothers and a younger sister. 
13. One of my (many) dreams is to own my own house someday. 
14. My favorite artists are Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift (I love country music)
15. I have rediscovered my love for riding my bike! This truly brings me so much joy and happiness.  
16. I am a fruit lover. My favorites are Watermelon, Mango and Strawberries. 
17. I am not a big fan of sweets (like cakes, cupcakes and cookies). 
18. I am a BIG lover of chips. My favorites are Hot Cheetos, and Hot Fries. 
19. My favorite fast food place is Chik-Fil-A 
20. I love dreaming and am excited to be creating content for myself- Finally!
