Hello everyone,
Welcome to another blog! Today I want to talk about how to make dresses work for Winter weather. I know winter can mean different things depending on where you live. I live in Southern California and this week it is forecasted to be in the 50’s all week! I know this isn’t cold for many but for me, it’s what I’ve always known to be winter.
Today I wanted to share some tips on how you can wear dresses during the colder months and still feel cute in them.
Let’s get started!
Layers, layers, layers!
My first tip has to do with layers! I think this can apply to anyone no matter where you live. If you’re like me and live in a place that is not so cold you won’t need that many layers and in contrast if you live in a place that is very cold then you’ll just need to add more layers.
As you can see in the picture below, the dress I am wearing has been in my closet since last Spring/Fall when I didn’t need to add much to it other than my favorite jean jacket. Now that the weather is colder, I decided to add a long sleeve mock-neck shirt under the dress to create one layer and depending on the weather, I can put my jean jacket over top to create more warmness. The key here is to find ways to make your wardrobe work in multiple seasons.
Closed Shoes!
My second tip for wearing dresses in colder months is to focus on wearing closed shoes! I always like to go the route of wearing boots and my favorites tend to be short boots since I am more on the petite side and my legs aren’t very long ?
The boots I’m wearing with this dress are from Nordstrom Rack and are very versatile and will last you multiple years. Definitely a staple in my closet. I’m linking them HERE.

Tights
My final tips for wearing dresses in colder months are to add tights underneath! If you live somewhere where it gets really cold then this one is for you! If you want to wear your dresses year long, you’ll want to invest in some good tights! Now, there are different kinds of tights. There are some that are super sheer and thin, which won’t keep you as warm and then there are tights that feel more like a sweater for your legs ?. The ones I’m wearing in this picture are from Kohls from the brand APT 9. I’m linking them HERE because I love them.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. I’m a firm believer in finding multiple ways to wear the clothes I have in my closet.
