Express has always been my go-to for quality workwear pieces. I still own a pair of work pants that I bought over 10 years ago and let me tell you, they’re still going strong. As of recent years they’ve also stepped up their game to sell more casual pieces as well and I am loving it, again, because their quality in clothing is superb. Anyways, I try to browse their website from time to time to see if there are any new pieces I can add to my wardrobe and this time around, it didn’t disappoint. Since my workplace is very flexible when it comes to the dress code, I’m happy to report that most of these pieces will fit in perfectly. So, keep on reading to see what pieces I bought and my review of them.
The first two pieces are these tan linen pants and this light blue basic top (with a twist). I really liked that these pants already come with a belt, helps define your waist and surprisingly they fit my petite 5″2″ frame perfectly. The top, although it is a basic top, has shoulder pads (what?! 😱). I wasn’t expecting to like it, but I did and I feel that it works perfectly to wear to the office.
I actually liked these pants a bit more than the ones before. I got these in the “short” version and they hit me right at the ankles, which I loved. As for the top, I love that it is double lined (which prevents it from being see-through), and also has subtle fall colors.
For this next look, I kept the pants but added this flower pattern top and loved it! I did size up because the material does not stretch. This made it work for me and my body type and I really feel that this look is perfect for the office.
Next, for some casual looks, first, I picked up this top and upon receiving it, I loved the material but it just didn’t work for me. I had to pin it up to because it didn’t have any buttons and kept riding down. I like how it looks and feel this would be perfect for girls night, dinner get together.
Last, but not least, I picked up this body contour top because I have a different one from the same line that I love. This one is really soft and I love the color but it was just a bit too crop for my taste. I would definitely recommend their body contour line but just shop around so that you get one that works best for you (they have so many styles!)
